There’s nothing like showcasing a beautiful Indiana winter wedding as the state is under a winter advisory! When Angel and Lew got married at St. Mary Church in Alexandria, we crossed our fingers that we’d see a winter wonderland. There may not have been snow on the ground, but the winter vibes were throughout every detail!

Because we grew up together, it was so surreal shooting Angel’s wedding. I, obviously, am honored to be at every single wedding that I shoot… but being a part of hers was even bigger. Knowing their family, hanging with hometown friend, and experiencing the special moments was just the cherry on top!

Would you believe me if I told you that the portraits all took place between a cemetery and a field next to an abandoned factory? It’s true! I remember walking around and prying (yes, prying) a fence open while scouting for a location. Then, promptly walking back into the church and asking Angel if she trusted me. She did and we made magic!!

An Indiana winter wedding is no joke! It gets really, really cold there! Luckily, the majority of the bridal party grew up there so it was no shock and they all were happy participants for the photos. I shot as fast I could and seriously enjoyed hanging out with all of them!

Heading into the reception, I knew it was going to fun. However, I never could have predicted HOW fun! I rode the party bus to the reception with the bridal party and they decided to stop and go Christmas caroling. You guys, we ended up on the news!! It was the coolest thing, ever, and something I’ll remember for a lifetime.
